A cellular telephone apparatus capable of searching for a telephone number corresponding to an e−mail address described in the e−mail header information or message information and calling the number. When called, the apparatus searches for an e−mail address corresponding to a telephone number of a caller, edits an e−mail, and transmits it. The apparatus includes means (104) for storing an e−mail, means (105) for displaying the e−mail, means (102) for selecting an e−mail address contained in the e−mail header information and the message information, means (106) for storing information on correspondence between an e−mail address and a telephone number, and means (108) for searching for the stored information and fetches the telephone number corresponding to the e−mail address, and calls the telephone number obtained by the search means (108).
