<p>The present invention discloses a cardiotonic composition comprising micronized digoxin, hydrophilic polymer(s) and optionally pharmaceutically acceptable excipient(s) in the form of a tablet that releases not more than 50 % digoxin in 5 minutes and at least 85 % digoxin in 60 minutes.</p>
