摘要 PURPOSE: A simultaneous service method in a mobile communication system is provided to transmit packet data to a destination mobile station timely and provide the continuity of a service being provided to a subscriber by setting up a simultaneous service by adding a procedure for re-activating the packet data on the interface between a base station controller and an exchange when destination packet data is generated from a network to the mobile station which is available for the simultaneous service set-up. CONSTITUTION: A point-to-point protocol(PPP) is set-up between a mobile station and a packet data serving node(S21). A PDSN which has received packet data to be destined to the mobile station transmits a destination packet data traffic to the PCF(S22). The PCF recognizes that the mobile station is in a dormant state and transmits a 3G-IOS A9-base station controller service request message to the BSC to re-activate a packet data service(S23). The BSC transmits a 3G-IOS additional service request message to an exchange to additionally establish a packet data call(S24). The exchange transmits a 3G-IOS assignment request message requesting a radio resource assignment for the additional packet data service and an A8 interface connection between the BSC and a PCF(Packet Control Function) to a base station controller(BSC)(S25). The BSC transmits a 3G-IOS A9-base station service response message to the PCF to inform that the packet data re-activation proceeds(S26). The BSC transmits a call assignment message of the radio interface standard so that the mobile station can process a call for the re-activated packet data service(S27). The BSC transmits one of SCM(Srvice Connection Message), a GHDM(General Handoff Direction Message) and UHDM(Universal Handoff Direction Message) to the mobile station to initiate a service option connection set-up for the additional packet data service with the mobile station(S28). The mobile station proceeds a service negotiation procedure(S29) and transmits a service connection completion message to the BSC(S30). The BSC transmits a 3G-IOS A9/A8 set-up message to the PCF to request a packet bearer connection set-up of the A8 interface(S31). The PCF transmits a 3G-IOS A9/A8 connection message to inform that the packet bearer of the A8 interface has been completely set up(S32). The BSC transmits a 3G-IOS assignment complete message to inform that the packet data service is ready(S33). The mobile station is provided with the additional packet data service simultaneously with the voice call service which has been provided, and the PCF transmits the packet data to the destination mobile station(S34).
