The invention relates to a device for the production of blown hollow bodies made from plastic, using a blow-moulding machine with which a cooling medium may be blown through a line into the blowing mould (12) or the hollow body, for shaping and cooling the blow-moulded hollow body. According to the invention, a closed line system (14) is provided in order to improve the internal cooling of the hollow body within the blowing mould, in which the cooling medium which runs in the circuit is held at an elevated pressure level and cooled by means of a heat exchanger. An increased production yield for the blow-moulding machine with low production costs can thus be achieved. The closed cooling medium circulation system can in principle be retro-fitted to all extant blow-moulding units to increase capacity.
