The invention relates to a beam-like structure for a transport package used for supporting and protecting packaged products during transport. The claimed beam-like structure (10) for a transport package, extending between the opposed side walls (12, 14) of the transport package, comprises a pair of face-to-face arranged bracket panels (16, 18) interconnected to some pairs of gusset panels (26 and 28) and (44 and 46), respectively, along some folding lines (30 and 32) and (53 and 55), respectively, the lower portions of the bracket panels (16 and 18) being separated from the adjacent portions of the support panels (36 and 40) and the pairs of gusset panels (26, 28 and 44, 46), respectively, by some cutting lines (48, 50 and 52).
