The invention relates to a drive mechanism for a motor vehicle, comprising a combustion engine and an integrated starter generator (21,22) which is also used for driving purposes. A valve drive mechanism is provided without a camshaft. The starter generator (21,22) is arranged on the front face of the engine and, preferably, the rotor thereof is at times directly connected to the crankshaft (25) by means of a coupling. A hub, which is connected to the rotor (21) of the starter generator (21,22), is rotatably mounted on the crankshaft journal. Additional units of the drive mechanism are driven by means of the hub (27a). |
