AROMATIC FLUOROPOLYMER AND USE THEREOF

An aromatic fluoropolymer having excellent heat resistance and a low relative permittivity; and an insulating film for electronic devices and for multilayered wiring boards which is formed from the fluoropolymer. The aromatic fluoropolymer, which has an ether linkage, is produced, for example, by a method in which a branched fluorinated aromatic compound (B) represented by the formula (1) is condensed with a compound (Y1) having a crosslinkable functional group (A) and a phenolic hydroxyl group in the presence of an agent for eliminating HF. It contains two or more crosslinkable functional groups (A) per molecule and has a number−average molecular weight of 1x103 to 5x105.
