A piezo component consists of an element with a surrounding housing onto which a section of the element is fixed. The housing is separated from other element regions by a mould gap filled with a cross-linked moulded material. The mould gap spacing between the housing and the element is small, and the moulded material contains a relatively large amount of filler. The spacings are adjusted to suit the heat removal requirements. The filler content is 20-90wt%. The housing consists of metal and has a tubular sleeve (2) and a pedestal (3). The moulded material is based on silicones, polyurethanes and epoxides. The arrangement used to fill the gap comprises a holder for the component, a moulding material supply line, a storage vessel (15) and a hollow needle.
