Process comprises pre-heating the components in the joining area in a pre-heating phase at a temperature TH1 of more than 600, especially more than 650 deg C to a pre-heating temperature TV which lies below the soldering operating temperature TL; and melting the aluminum solder in a soldering phase in the joining area using a hot gas. The temperature H2 of the hot gas in the solder phase is 570-650 deg C. Preferred Features: The components are heated in the pre-heating phase to a pre-heating temperature TV which lies at a maximum of 20 % below the soldering operating temperature TL. The hot gas is electrically heated. The hot gas is air or an air-gas mixture, or a protective gas or protective gas mixture.
