A refrigerator allowing an optimum amount of refrigerant to be easily filled therein in a short time, comprising a refrigerant circulating circuit (A) for connecting an outdoor unit (X) to an indoor unit (Y) through refrigerant pipes (6) and (7), wherein a refrigerant filling device (10) for filling refrigerant into the refrigerant circulating circuit (A) in the state of cooling operation is detachably connected to a liquid side refrigerant pipe (6) connecting the outdoor unit (X) to the indoor unit (Y) and functioning as a high−pressure liquid pipe during the cooling operation, whereby, when the refrigerant circulating circuit (A) is brought into the state of cooling operation by allowing the refrigerant filling device (10) to communicate with the liquid side refrigerant pipe (6), refrigerant is filled from the refrigerant filling device (10) into the refrigerant circulating circuit (A) through the liquid side refrigerant pipe (6) functioning as the high−pressure pipe.
