PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for measuring potentials of a photosensitive belt of an electro-photographic printer are provided to respectively sense an electrified potential, a topped potential and an exposure potential of a photosensitive belt for easily finding out abnormality of a main electrifier, a topping electrifier and a laser scanning unit. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring potentials of a photosensitive belt of an electro-photographic printer includes the steps of determining whether a potential of the photosensitive belt electrified by a main electrifier is higher than a reference value after driving a potential sensor mounted at a lower part of the main electrifier(S30), additionally electrifying the photosensitive belt by driving a plurality of topping electrifier mounted at a lower part of the potential sensor with a predetermined interval(S40), turning off the main electrifier and an anti-electrifier after the additional electrifying(S50), and determining whether a topped potential of the photosensitive belt, which is changed by the additional electrifying, is higher than a reference value by the potential sensor(S60).
