<p>The apparatus of the invention is configured to deposit a fluid, such as a hydrophilic polymer solution, into existing sod. The apparatus (10)includes a frame (20),a cylindrical housing (22),spikes (32) protruding perpendicularly away from the housing (22),tworotating hubs, a tank (24), tubing connecting the tank to the rotating hubs, tubing connecting the rotating hubs to the spikes (32), and a pump (30) for pumping fluid from the tank (24) to the rotating hubs where the fluid is forced into the spikes (32) and ultimately into the earth. The apparatus (10) is also configured such that the fluid is only expelled from the spikes (32) while the spikes are in the earth.</p> |
