The device has two cylindrically shaped hollow main bodies (10,12) which are joined by the insertion of the lower part of the upper part (12) into the upper area of the lower body (10). A rod (34), suppported by a spring (40) and fitted with a lens holding tip (44) can be moved inside the outer pipes (10,12). When moved towards the top by pressing a grip (38) joined to the lower end of the rod (34) which protrudes from the lower area of the lower body (10) the rod (34) is guided through a lens cartridge. The lens is transported on the tip (44) of the rod (34) and can be inserted into the eye.
