It is intended to evaluate the antitumor effect of a polylactic acid mixture containing cyclic polylactic acid as the main component to thereby provide a novel antitumor agent. Namely, an antitumor agent containing a polylactic acid mixture which contains cyclic polylactic acid having a degree of condensation of 3 to 20 as the main component.
