PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film excellent in optical properties such as transparency; and a resin composition for preparing the same. SOLUTION: The resin composition for preparing an optical film contains (A) a thermoplastic resin having as side chains optionally substituted imide groups, (B) a thermoplastic resin having as side chains optionally substituted phenyl groups and nitrile groups, and (C) at least one stabilizer selected from among phenolic stabilizers, phosphorus stabilizers, thioether stabilizers, tin stabilizers, and amine stabilizers. An optical film prepared from the resin composition has a haze of 1% or lower and a total light transmission of 85% or higher.
