<p>A TV phone comprising means for capturing live image of a speaker and means for storing s at least one substitute video of the speaker and processing means for selecting the substitute video in place of the live image and transmitting the substitute video to a speech-communication partner. Preferably the substitute image is created by the speaker by selecting from a number of stored part-video data components, such as components representing, eyes, nose, mouth etc, forming a synthesized animation of the speaker to be transmitted. The TV phone may transmit a character string laid out in the video. A means for converting the format of the stored video data and for compressing the data to be stored may also be included.</p> |
