PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide type optical multiplex/demultiplex circuit which shows no deterioration of characteristic due to the wavelength- dependability of a coupler and does not receive influences of the deterioration of productivity and manufacturing deviation due to the cancellation of the wavelength-dependability. SOLUTION: Wavelength multiplexed signalsλ1,λ2,λ3,λ4 andλ5 which are made incident from an input waveguide 1301 are outputted from output waveguides 1304a and 1304b by being demultiplexed in groups of an even number channel (λ2 andλ4) and an odd number channel (λ1,λ3 andλ5), respectively, via a multimode interference type optical coupler 1302a of which coupling rate is 50%, a delay circuit 1303a of which optical path difference isΔL, a multimode interference type optical coupler 1302b of which coupling rate is 85%, a delay circuit 1303b of which optical path difference is 2ΔL and a multimode interference type optical coupler 1302c of which coupling rate is 85%. Thus, such effects as providing a broad band, miniaturization and relaxation of tolerance for the deviation in the manufacturing deviation are available. |
