PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which can easily obtain detailed map information to their destination place and be used at any place through seamless communication. SOLUTION: This navigation system is configured by arranging a map service center that is provided with a means for receiving GPS signals transmitted from a plurality of GPS signals through a portable telephone with GPS function incorporating a GPS receiving part, a GPS control unit and a GPS antenna, a means for packet-transmitting data such as a positional information that is obtained by analyzing satellite position or satellite-to-receiver distance information and clock information included in the GPS signals, and the telephone number and search information, etc., of the portable telephone, and a means for receiving the data detecting the positions of the portable telephone and destination, and transmitting map data such as an appropriate scaled map information or a route information and distance, etc., to the portable telephone. Furthermore, this system is made correspondent with a GPS method available under ground or within an architectural structure. |
