PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a transfer amount error resulting from a paper slip by correcting a driving amount for a transfer mechanism at the execution of printing while transferring a printing medium. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is provided with a control means for interpreting a received printing job and instructing printing, and an engine for carrying out printing while transferring the printing medium in accordance with the printing instruction. In the imaging apparatus, there are provided a storage means for storing an ideal transfer amount Y when the printing medium is supposed not to slip and an actual transfer amount Z including the slip of the printing medium correspondingly to a predetermined driving amount X, and a slip-correcting means for calculating a driving amount n' according to (n'=n×Y/Z) with reference to the storage means for a driving amount (n) instructed from the control means and outputting the driving amount n' as a corrected driving amount to the transfer mechanism. The slip-correcting means outputs the driving amount (n) as it is without correcting the amount to the transfer mechanism when the ideal transfer amount corresponding to the driving amount (n) is smaller than a predetermined threshold (for example, a band length).
