PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for monitoring a tire air pressure capable of reducing a consumed current during stopping of an engine. SOLUTION: In a step S406, whether or not receiving a detection signal from each transmitter 2 is determined. When it is determined to be affirmative, progressing to a step S407, a timer is set in a timer 22, and in a step S408, the whole or a part of the functions of the receiver 1 is controlled to a suspended state. In a step S409, whether or not an ignition (IG) switch is turned off is determined. When it is determined to be affirmative, progressing to a step S410, whether or not a second prescribed time passes after setting the timer 22 in the timer 22. When it is determined to be negative, returning to the step S408, the suspended state is continued, while it is determined to be affirmative, returning to the step 401, and an intermittent operation is implemented.
