PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boring machine and a boring method which can bore a plurality of holes efficiently in an object. SOLUTION: A rail 110 is installed on the object C, a moving base 120 which can be moved freely along the rail 110 is installed, and a boring machine 1 is supported by the moving base 120. After one hole is bored in the object C by the boring machine 1, the boring machine 1 is moved with the moving base 120 along the rail 110, and a process for boring a next hole is repeated, so that the holes are bored in turn along the rail 110.
