METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TOOTHED BELT MADE OF THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold the back surface of a belt by injecting a thermoplastic elastomer lowered in its melt viscosity in a cavity and to eliminate the disturbance in the arrangement of core wires by preventing the stretching of the elastomer layer of a preformed layer. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toothed belt made of the thermoplastic elastomer includes an initial injection process wherein an inner mold 3 is arranged in an outer mold to form the cavity, and the thermoplastic elastomer is injection-molded to fill the cavity 9 to form the preformed layer 15; a spinning process for winding the core wires 16 around the peripheral surface of the preformed layer 15 of the inner mold 3 demolded from the outer mold; a final injection process again arranging the inner mold 3 after the winding the core wires 16 in the outer mold, and subsequently injection-molding the thermoplastic elastomer lowered in its melt viscosity in the cavity to fully fill the cavity to form the back surface part 17 of the belt; and a process for finishing the belt sleeve released from the inner mold to form the toothed belt.
