PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for optical use and a method for manufacturing the film having high heat resistance and high transparency, no fine projections or dents on the film surface and having controlled optical characteristics. SOLUTION: The optical film consists of a polycarbonate resin prepared by copolymerizing 9,9-bis-(3-methyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorene and 2,2-bis-(4- hydroxyphenyl)propane and has 20 to 1,000μm thickness, >=80% transmittance for all rays and <=20 particles/mm<2> minute projections on the surface. The film is manufactured in a drying process under the conditions of <=2.5 Kg/cm<2> tension in the traveling direction of the film and the environment temperature ranging from (Tg-50) deg.C to (Tg-5) deg.C, wherein Tg is the glass transition temperature ( deg.C) of the polycarbonate resin. |
