PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device of an engine capable of controlling the valve timing with high accuracy while suppressing troubles by noise. SOLUTION: The valve timing control device 10 has a control unit 12 integrally comprising a cam sensor for detecting the rotational position of the cam shaft, a working fluid condition detecting means for detecting at least one of the temperature or the pressure of the working fluid of a variable phase mechanism, a control circuit for controlling the drive of the variable phase mechanism so that the rotational phase of the cam shaft becomes the target rotational phase according to the operational condition of the engine, and is fitted to an engine body via a fitting bracket 13 together with a variable phase mechanism 11 to change the rotational phase of the cam shaft 4 to a crank shaft by the hydraulic pressure.
