PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing fexofenadine. SOLUTION: This method for producing fexofenadine comprises steps of reacting a compound of formula (1) (wherein, R<1> is a halogen, an alkyl or an aryl sulfonate group) with a compound of formula (2) condensing the compound of formula (3) with a compound of the formula (4) (wherein, R<2> is H or a 1-4C alkyl; and R<3> is a halogen, an alkyl or an aryl sulfonate) in the presence of a metal catalyst based on copper (I) or palladium (0) and copper (I), and a base, and converting the compound of formula (5) to fexofenadine by adding water, and subsequent carbonyl group to hydroxyl group.
