PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable fuel that enables combustion free from the danger of starting fire and explosion due to evaporation of a fuel and without the emission of soot, has stability in sucking-up of a fuel by a wick and makes it possible to easily control its burning intensity and maintain stably adequate burning intensity. SOLUTION: The portable fuel 1 is constituted of the wick 3, a composition 10 in a solid form contained within the wick 3, a combustion wick 30 disposed at the bottom portion of the composition and a thin-film container 40 having a bottom for encasing the composition contained in the wick 3. The wick 3 is made of a vegetable fiber and formed into a thin-walled cylindrical shape. The composition 10 in the solid form comprises 10-35 wt.% polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of not less than about 6,000 and 90-65 wt.% ethylene glycol. The combustion wick 30 is disposed at the center of the bottom portion of the composition and is made of a vegetable fiber. The thin-film container 40 having a circular bottom is formed from a thin film made of aluminum and forms an enclosed interior space therein by forming adhesive bond at the inner side of the peripheral edge of the opening of the container through an adhesive to be shaped into a bag package.
