PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actively utilize the Curie temperature of a magnetic material in a device for selectively capturing a substance to be captured through the use of magnetic particles. SOLUTION: The magnetic particles 16 are formed of the magnetic material 20 and a coating layer (capturing layer) 22, and the substance to be captured 24 is captured by the coating layer 22. The magnetic material 20 exhibits ferromagnetism at temperatures lower than the Curie temperature and paramagnetism at temperatures higher than the Curie temperature. Therefore, when impressed with an A.C. magnetic field by a magnetic field generator 28, a self temperature regulating function of the magnetic particles 16 is exercised. When a D.C. magnetic field is generated by the magnetic field generator 28, the magnetic particles 16 are collected. It is possible to make the Curie temperature of the magnetic material lower than a temperature for heat treatment and higher than a temperature for collecting particles.
