PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber water level sensor capable of utilizing the characteristics of an FBG element part, highly accurately measuring the level of water in a short time, and facilitating manufacture. SOLUTION: A shaft 3 is pushed and moved by a bellows 2 which receives water pressure, and the amount of displacement of the shaft 3 is contracted by a superelastic alloy wire 12 (or an optical fiber) provided as an extension spring. By the contracted displacement, extension distortion is provided for a sensor part 6a for measuring pressure of the optical fiber 6 in which the FBG element is formed in its part. Changes in the wavelengths of reflection of light caused by the distortion are captured to measure the amount of distortion in the sensor part 6a, and a water level proportional to the amount of distortion is obtained.
