PURPOSE: A polymer fluorescent substance, a polymer light emitting device using the fluorescent substance and an optical device using the device are provided, to improve the quantum yield of fluorescence and the light emitting efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The polymer fluorescent substance comprises at least one repeating unit represented by the formula 1, wherein Ar1 and Ar2 are independently an arylene group or a divalent heterocyclic group; Ar3 is a nucleophilic substituent and is an aryl group having at least one substituent represented by -Y-Ar4 or a monovalent heterocyclic group; X is -CR1=CR2- (wherein R1 and R2 are independently H, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a monovalent heterocyclic group or a cyano group) or C-C triple bond; n is 0 or 1; Ar4 is an aryl group, a monovalent heterocyclic group or a monovalent aromatic amine group; and Y is -CR3=CR4- (wherein R3 and R4 are independently H, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a monovalent heterocyclic group or a cyano group) or C-C triple bond. The polymer fluorescent substance exhibits visible fluorescence in the solid state and has a polystyrene reduced number average molecular weight of 10¬3-10¬8.
