COMPOSITION FOR PROMOTING SECRETION OF SEX HORMONE CONTAINING RHUS VERNICIFLUA

PURPOSE: A process of preparing a pharmaceutical composition containing a Rhus verniciflua extract as a main component is provided. Whereby, the composition has an improving effect on the secretion of sex hormone. CONSTITUTION: The Rhus verniciflua extract is prepared by the steps of: drying Rhus verniciflua in the shade for from 1 week to 3 months; extracting it in an organic solvent containing acetone, ethanol, methanol and a mixture thereof at 20 to 60deg.C; and then subjecting the crude extract to silica gel adsorption chromatography employing a mixture of chloroform and methanol. The effective amount of the Rhus verniciflua extract is in the range of 10 to 200mg/kg weight/day.
