PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium having not only excellent image transferability but also excellent durability against solvents having different properties such as a gasoline, an ethanol or a brake oil in the transfer image. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer recording medium comprises a release layer, and an ink layer containing a coloring agent, sequentially laminated on a support. In this medium, the ink layer contains a polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of 95 mol% or more and a polymerization degree of 550 or less. |
