PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a hemostatic material capable of readily removing excessive materials when applied to a hemorrhagic site and subjected to gelation and an improved method in a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This hemostatic material comprises a meleate of a deacetylated chitin.
