PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a longitudinal directional insertion unit improved in the operation and a service life thereof. SOLUTION: This axial directional insertion unit is formed of a sleeve 11 formed into a contour having a first ball groove 12, a journal 21 formed into a contour having a second ball groove 22, balls 31, 32 and 33 arranged in a pair of the first and the second ball grooves 12 and 22 in a ball group, and a ball cage 41 positioned between the sleeve 11 having the described contour and the journal 12 having the described contour to relatively fix the balls at these positions. In a range of the ball grooves 12 and 22, during the time when the sleeve 11 having the described contour and the journal 12 having the described outline lead the torque composed of the same torsion rigidity, they follows at the same helix angle.
