PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tonneau cover device for permitting luggage to be easily put in and out with a luggage room large opened at its upper part by winding a tonneau cover in linkage with a back door when opening the back door. SOLUTION: The tonneau cover 3 has a tonneau cover shaft 9 at the rear end, extending to the cross direction of a vehicle, and right and left ends 5, 5 of the tonneau cover shaft 9 are removably locked to an engagement portion 11 provided at the side of the luggage room 6. The engagement portion 11 has linkage opening means 19 for disengaging the right and left ends 5, 5 of the tonneau cover shaft 9 in linkage with the opening of the back door 7. The tonneau cover 3 is wound on a retractor 2 in linkage with the opening of the back door 7, thereby permitting luggage to be easily put in and out with the luggage room 6 opened at its upper part.
