PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of high-efficiently and reliably regenerating an occlusion type NOx catalyst as the size of a device is reduced by using a combustion heater, and, also capable of enabling improvement of catalyst durability performance. SOLUTION: The occlusion type NOx catalyst (24) is rotated by a catalyst rotating means (34), a space situated upper stream of the occlusion type NOx catalyst is partitioned centering around the central axis of the occlusion type NOx catalyst to form a first introduction region (27) and a second introduction region (28). High temperature combustion gas is supplied to the first introduction region from a combustion type heater (40) through a first passage (43), and low temperature combustion gas is supplied to the second introduction region through a second passage (42). |
