PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FRP coil spring of a large spring constant, which, conventionally, has not been realized compared to a metal spring. SOLUTION: In the case of this FRP compression coil spring, reinforcement fibers to compose an element wire for the spring are twisted, and a right hand wind coil is composed of left hand twisted sires, while a left hand wind coil is composed of right hand twisted wires. Bt setting the direction of the twisting to coincide with the direction of elongation of the reinforcement fibers due to the twisting moment 7 to apply stress on the reinforcement fibers for achieving a large spring constant. A fiber volume content is increased to achieve a high density, which also contributes to securing rigidity.
