PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting mechanism capable of being assembled in a compressor independently of a rotating direction. SOLUTION: A plate engaging member 7 is turnably supported by a flange part 3b of a first rotary member 3 through a rivet 6 freely. A flat holding plate 9 formed with a holding part 9c is fixed to the flange part 3b of the first rotary member 1, and a part 7c to be pinched of the engaging member 7 is pinched between the holding part 9c and the flange part 3b. A lock member 11 formed with a lock part 11c is assembled in a second rotary member 10. This power transmitting mechanism 1 is assembled in the compressor 2 so that the engaging member 7 is turned around the rivet 6 to remove the engaging part 7b of the engaging member 7 from the lock part 11c of the lock member 11 when an excessive load is applied.
