PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide self-ascending external scaffolding that can ascend by itself at the time of performing replacement without using any lifting heavy machinery etc., and can be used for assembling the columns, beams, etc., of a building frame, welding work, and so on. SOLUTION: A guide member (21) used for this external scaffolding (10) at the time of elevating and lowering this external scaffolding (10) is built in this scaffolding (10) as a component. A bracket (45) having a roller (50) engaged with the guide member (21) and a safety device (49) is detachably attached to a beam (2) of the building frame. In addition, an outrigger stage (30) and a winch (20) are attached to the scaffolding (10).
