POWER STEERING GEAR BOX MECHANISM FOR DISCONNECTING ASSISTING MECHANISM IN ACCORDANCE WITH TRAVELLING SPEED OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering gear box mechanism for connecting/ disconnecting an assisting mechanism for a steering gear box in accordance with the travelling condition of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The power steering gear box mechanism 1 to be used for the vehicle allows an driver to efficiently steer a vehicle, when stopped or travelling at a very low speed, by assisting a steering mechanism 2 with the assisting mechanism and prevents an engine of the vehicle from driving a hydraulic pump 5 by disconnecting the assisting mechanism when the vehicle travels at a high speed. The power steering gear box mechanism 1 is used with a rack 3 and a pinion to constitute the steering mechanism 2 and has control means 8 for detecting the travelling condition of the vehicle and transmitting a signal so that the assisting mechanism of the steering mechanism 2 is disconnected when the vehicle travels at a predetermined speed.
