<p>In a local information server, a number of coordinate converters are respectively associated with positioning signals of different coordinate systems. Each converter performs a coordinate conversion on the associated positioning signal so that the latter is converted to a positioning signal of a prescribed coordinate system, so that when a positioning signal is received from a user terminal, it is supplied to one of the coordinate converters corresponding to its coordinate system. The converted positioning signal is used to retrieve local information from a database. The retrieved data is then transmitted to the user terminal. <IMAGE></p> |
