GYPSUM BOARD EQUIPPED WITH IMPROVED MAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gypsum board equipped with an improved coated fiber mat formed by mainly applying an inorganic coating layer on a mat. SOLUTION: A gypsum board 12 is held between a glass fiber mat 14 and a glass fiber mat 16 to provide a water-resistant structural panel including the gypsum board 12 having mats and a coagulated gypsum core. Herein, an aqueous coating composition to be applied to the surfaces of the gypsum board comprises a combination composed of a mineral pigment, an inorganic binder and a polymer latex binder and the uncoated surface of one mat is coated with this aqueous coating composition so that the fibers of the mat is not substantially protruded from the coating layer on the mat at the time of drying and coagulation of the coating layer.
