PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch which enables a mirror to be fixedly held in a light reflection position with a simple structure and does not need energy for fixedly holding it. SOLUTION: An optical switch 1 is provided with a mirror 2 on the upper face of a substrate 4 and is provided with a core 5, which pierces their center parts and is made of a ferromagnetic body. The substrate 4 is supported by a leaf spring 6, and a pair of permanent magnets 7 and 8 are arranged above and below the substrate 4, and electromagnetic coils 3 are formed on surfaces facing each other of permanent magnets 7 and 8. When the core 5 is attracted to the upper permanent magnet 8, the optical switch is turned on, and the mirror 2 reflects a signal light. When a current is made to flow to the upper electromagnetic coil 3 for making an electromagnet repelling the upper permanent magnet 8 of the core 5 in the switch-on state, the core 5 is separated from the upper permanent magnet 8 and is moved to the lower permanent magnet 7, to go into turn off position. |
