PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome a problem in a temperature detecting means for detecting a temperature of a fixing roller whose image quality gets worse by contacting with the fixing roller after fixing due to generation of a slide abrasion flaw on a surface of the fixing roller in accordance to increase of the number of fixed sheets. SOLUTION: A means for selecting a used data table in response to a variation of an output voltage per unit time from a circuit including a temperature compensating thermistor is provided in a detecting circuit for a contactless temperature sensor having a processing means for processing an output voltage from a circuit including a temperature detecting thermistor for an infrared absorbing member provided inside a casing, and the output voltage from the circuit including the temperature compensating thermistor, and for converting processed values thereof into temperatures using the data table to detect a temperature of a detected object.
