PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger and a refrigerating cycle system employing the same, which increases heat exchanging rate or improves heat exchanging efficiency by preventing dryout of carbon dioxide refrigerant in a refrigerant channel. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger is provided with the refrigerant channel which is constituted of a plurality of through holes provided to a heating tube 73. Carbon dioxide which is in the process of evaporation flows through the channel. The number of through holes provided to a heat tube bank 13C at the outlet side of the channel is larger than the number of through holes provided to a heat tube bank 13A at the inlet side of the channel. Specifically, the cross section of the channel at the outlet side is rendered to be larger than that at the inlet side.
