PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive composition for hot melt application that furnishes an effective adhesion force even when used for an adherend that is hard to bond owing to mirror-like lapping that allows little anchoring effect of an adhesive. SOLUTION: This adhesive composition for hot melt application comprises a polymer obtained by polymerizing monomer components having, as an indispensable component, a monomer with a carboxyl group in the molecule, a homopolymer therefrom having a glass transition temperature of <0 deg.C. Specifically, the polymer is an acrylic block polymer comprising 50-100 wt.% of a (meth)acrylate structural unit per the whole polymer. It is preferable that the acrylic block polymer is obtained by a multi-stage polymerization process in the presence of a multivalent mercaptan.
