PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively protecting the skin of a human being or the like from the damage caused by a blood sucker for a long period without directly treating the skin. SOLUTION: This method for protecting the skin from the blood sucker is characterized in that the skin is covered with clothes treated with a composition containing phenothrin and N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide as active ingredients. The method for repelling the blood sucker is characterized in that the clothes are treated with the composition containing the phenothrin and the N,N-diethyl- m-toluamide as the active ingredients.
