PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus capable of eliminating the ink remaining in an ink-jet head in a simple structure, and capable of preventing pollution of the inside of the apparatus or a recording medium due to dropping or scattering of an ink. SOLUTION: In an ink-jet recording apparatus comprising an ink-jet head 6 and a wiper member 86, after moving the ink-jet head 6 to a wiping finishing position La so as to dispose the wiper member 86 on the wiping direction rear end side, the ink-jet head 6 is moved to a wiper contacting position Lb for contacting the wiper member 86 to the wiping direction rear end, and thereafter the ink-jet head 6 is separated from the wiper member 86. The ink W adhered on the ink-jet head side surface 6b is adhered onto the wiper member 86 so as to be eliminated from the ink-jet head 6.
