PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inject a minute injection quantity stably via control of energization time of an injector in a diesel engine using pilot injection and the like. SOLUTION: Split injection is executed in an idle operating state, and an energization time for the first stage of injection producing a stable idle operating state is updated and stored as a learning value of energization time corresponding to an injection quantity per stage. The same process is executed with varying injection pressures. Alternatively, under pilot injection, a misfire limit is detected from a speed variation when the injection timing of a total injection quantity of main injection and pilot injection is retarded to a limit whereat injection of only the main injection results in a misfire and when energization time for the pilot injection is gradually reduced or increased with the total injection quantity unchanged, and according to the energization time at the misfire limit, a lower limit value of energization time for the pilot injection may be updated and stored.
