PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and method for driving the same is provided to lengthen useful life of protective layer and phosphor by varying thickness of dielectric layer for each position of electrodes, while improving discharge efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a pair of transparent electrodes(42a,42c) formed on an upper substrate(40) and which have wide width; a pair of bus electrodes(42b,42d) having narrow width, and which compensate resistant component of transparent electrode; and dielectric layers(44a,44b,44c) formed on the transparent electrodes and bus electrodes. The dielectric layers are formed relatively thick in the barrier rib region formed between transparent electrodes. |
