The delivery and retrieval device, comprises a device body supported above the end of a conveyor 2 adjacent a roadway and a pair of continuous loops 12,13 of belts or chains that are rotatable in opposing directions on the device body. The loops define an inclined elongate delivery channel 14 between a length of each loop, the channel having a first end 14A at the height of a cone 20 when on a roadway with the first end being over the roadway and with the second end 14B of the channel being substantially the height of a cone above the conveyor. The channel is substantially the width of the top end of a cone so that as to engage a cone within the channel so that cones travelling down the conveyor are engaged by the channel and moved from the conveyor to the roadway and visa-versa. The device preferably includes a pair of guides 15A, 15B which extend forward from the first end of the delivery channel and which act to guide cones towards the channel when cones are being retrieved. The loops are preferably motor driven and formed from a loop of chain or belt around cogs 12A,12B,13A,13B or wheels. The delivery channel may be adapted to engage an annular recess 21 at the top of the cones. |
